2026-04-19 Feeling sherlocked - XDG's new Projects folder

After reading a post titled Hello old new "Projects" directory. I am not sure how to feel about this after spending quite a long time deliberating what made sense to hold lots of my software fiddlings. I ended up choosing ~/Projects as a personal convention.

While I guess this formalizes this on a typical desktop Linux (and transitively, FreeBSD), I am not sure how I feel about this after initially becoming aware of it as now I will have software defaults now throwing in things into this directory that had been rather sure it was away from all of the churn that default configurations for software handed to you.

I guess this is a wait and see.
